Reminder final wānanga #9 and #10 this weekend: 
(Last chance if you missed the other 8)

*Due to the passing of one of our key facilitator Hone Ngata Jr we have tweaked our wānanga slightly, but will still carry on with the kaupapa in his memory and honour*

Programme for the weekend:
Friday 30th Aug:
3pm onwards: Settle in, Marae will be open all day
Dinner prep
5pm: Kai then clean up

6pm: MEN'S WĀNANGA/FORUM: Facilitated by cousin Charlie Rahiri 
"Tikanga, paetapu, kōrero etc"
Ki hea: This forum will be held in the wharekai. 
WE NEED MINIMUM 20 MEN to come, young and old...Please encourage one another e tāne mā!!

6pm: Wahine forum will continue on from the last wānanga...Tikanga, roles on the Marae, waiata...
Ki hea: In the wharenui
*A Movie will be showing for our tamariki during this time also*.
Supper/Moe time

Saturday 31st Aug:
8am: Parakuihi/clean up.
9.00am-11am: Opening for the day/Karakia/Mihimihi

*WHOLE GROUP SESSION:
CONTINUATION OF KŌRERO FROM NIGHT BEFORE: *Facilitated by Charlie and team.*

11.30-3PM: MAHI WHAKAIRO/MAHI TOI: 

*Mini Exhibition and display of art-pieces by the late Hone Te Ihi o Te Rangi Ngata
*Photo display taken from time of creation and installation of carvings, poupou and heke.


*Mahi Toi: "HONE ROCKS”: 
Everyone is asked to please bring a rock from home to paint. We will paint these in memory of Hone, then we will go down to the urupa together and place our rocks around him and our whānau.

(Paint, brushes etc will be supplied).


1pm: Lunch

2pm: Mahi continues/Complete rocks/Dinner prep
3pm: Hikoi down to the urupa
5pm: Free time/kai prep
6pm: Kai
7.30pm: Night showing in wharenui of our Marae DIY footage and more....

Sunday 1st Sept:
8am: Parakuihi
Clean up
9.30am: Closing karakia
Ka mutu

This is our last wānanga so we encourage you all to attend. 
Big mihi also to those who have made the commitment and attended since Wānanga #1, travelled from near and far....look forward to seeing you all again in a few days!

NB: Marae available for whānau to stay the weekend
